John Huber is a distinguished educational leader with a rich background spanning over three decades. With 15 years of experience as a classroom teacher in Baltimore County Public Schools followed by another 15 years as an assistant principal, John has honed his skills in fostering quality student success through relationship-building and strategic leadership. His commitment to ensuring safe and supportive learning environments led him to found Maryland K12 after retiring from Baltimore County Schools in 2020.
At Maryland K12, John has been at the forefront of discussions on school safety, climate, and student discipline. As an accomplished Author/Consultant, he has spearheaded efforts to promote school safety and enhance student achievement. His expertise in school safety is underscored by his success in writing, implementing, and reviewing school safety plans, resulting in significant reductions in suspension rates and arrests.
John’s thought leadership in school safety extends to his presentations at prestigious conferences, including the National School Safety Conference and the National Organization for Student Success conference. John has presented several sessions at such conferences including Navigating The Relationship Between School Resource Officers (SROs) and School Administrators, and Leveraging Relationships to Increase Student Success. In July of 2024 John will be presenting a session on Writing, Implementing, And Enforcing the MOU to education and law enforcement officials at the National School Safety Conference in Orlando, Fl.

Currently serving as a Learning Design Strategist at LearningMate, John leverages his expertise to review, edit, and modify online curriculum to meet the needs of special education students.
